“For me, I find my strength in Jesus Christ, and I am not shaken by this. They can do whatever they wish. My only concern is that some people are interpreting the actions taken at the Constituency office in Chiengi as an attempt to drive me out of the area, which is traditionally understood as such. I’m unsure what message is being conveyed by that act. These are some of the challenges we, as members of parliament in rural areas, face. Rural MPs work under very tough conditions, and it becomes difficult to promote development when treated this way as a leader.”
