“No, how could I join PF? I’m FDD! People may say, " but I’ve never been afraid. I won that seat solely on the FDD ticket, even though the party didn’t have funds. When I debate in Parliament, I don’t do it to please anyone. I speak for the nation and for the people of Chiengi. I am FDD, and I will remain FDD. I’ve heard some say, "There will be a by-election in Chiengi," but there won’t be any. In 2021, I will contest that seat again on the FDD ticket and I will still win.”

“The reason we struggle to engage with our opponents is due to the mentality we have we view them as enemies. I support him as long as he’s happy. At home, he supports Manchester United, and I support Arsenal. When we watch the game, we just enjoy it, saying, "Oh, your team lost, hard luck!"”

“What my husband has done is commendable, showing that unity of purpose is possible. Your wife can be in UPND while the husband is in FDD or PF. These are just politics, and no matter what, one day, you'll find yourselves out of those positions. Leadership is temporary, and no one will remain in power forever. Personally, I’m not affected because I know how well I get along with my husband. We’ve agreed that when we're at home, it’s all about "sweetheart, sweetheart." If anything, he was once in PF, but he left the party to support me in becoming a member of parliament.”

“I would like to advise the new dawn administration under His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema to fulfill their promises, or else the people of Chiengi will not hesitate to vote them out in 2026. I am delivering the message from the people of Chiengi, who are saying that after 27 years, 20 years, or even 10 years, they may only give them five more years if their promises remain unfulfilled. Let those who have ears, hear.”

“The mistake made by pro-Edgar Lungu supporters was placing the interests of the Patriotic Front above those of the nation. Instead of holding themselves accountable to the promise of serving the people of Chiengi and Zambia as outlined in their party manifesto, PF supporters chose to blindly praise the former Head of State. They went as far as telling lies, focusing only on what he wanted to hear, even when the reality on the ground was completely different.”

“Another area I am deeply passionate about is the education of the people in the region. Without an educated populace, it becomes challenging for them to actively participate in the development of their community.”

“As you may know, for a district to achieve meaningful socio-economic development, it is essential to provide infrastructure such as roads for the transportation of goods, services, and people.”

“Despite this challenge, I believe that my solid educational background, along with the support from my family and the electorate, contributed to my victory.”

“As a mother and someone with roots in Chiengi, it pains me to see how the area has remained underdeveloped despite its immense potential.”

“This is a significant achievement in fostering competent leadership within the party to drive human development.”

“I commend our party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for successfully reconciling with former members who had called for a convention to remove Edith Nawakwi from leadership.”

“After successfully reconciling the FDD's conflicting members, I will be able to represent both the Party and the people of Chiengi effectively in Parliament.”

“For me, I find my strength in Jesus Christ, and I am not shaken by this. They can do whatever they wish. My only concern is that some people are interpreting the actions taken at the Constituency office in Chiengi as an attempt to drive me out of the area, which is traditionally understood as such. I’m unsure what message is being conveyed by that act. These are some of the challenges we, as members of parliament in rural areas, face. Rural MPs work under very tough conditions, and it becomes difficult to promote development when treated this way as a leader.”

“I decided to stop by and check the office, but before doing anything inside, I inspected the premises. When I looked at the door, I discovered fecal matter on the lock handle and saw more of it heaped on the floor. I took pictures of the situation and sent them to the MP. After that, I contacted the police, who came and witnessed the same incident. I then formally reported the matter to the police.”
