To posit wisdom as God's chief tool for subjecting the universe is tantamount to suggesting that God will accomplish his plan on earth by appealing—in a very Platonic manner—to our reason through a sort of divine rhetoric rather than by terrifying our bodies through the force of his divine wrath.”
