“Years ago, having an Equity Card usually meant you were trained, either in radio or theatre rep, which doesn't exist now. So there is nowhere for young actors to serve their apprenticeship. This means they are plummeted straight into work and you're famous within seconds, which is no good, especially when you are young.”
