“When I was younger there was no programming that talked about disability in the way that we do. I wish there had been because, I'll be honest, I was very reticent to even apply for Channel 4 because I thought, 'there isn't any of us on TV,' and I thought there must be a reason for that, society doesn't think it's appropriate?”
