“"Black in a white reality," Douce Dibondo sharpens her angry and militant pen as if to exorcise the world."”

“"Vicarious racism is the act of indirectly experiencing discrimination and oppression."”

“"It is indeed easier to cry out against institutional racism, which largely absolves the individuals who perpetuate it of responsibility, than to question the very root of the institutionalization of this racism."”

“"In the white supremacist hierarchy, Black people are seen as other, weak, and equated with femininity. Inevitably, racialized men acquire the status of a gender through this otherness. This intersection of oppressions creates a unique situation that makes them direct targets of white supremacy and repressive violence."”

“"When a person of color denounces a racist act or statement (and all the violence it entails), white people instinctively deny, minimize, or worse, play the victim, claiming they have been deeply hurt."”
