“I mean, I would say, have you heard Alan Kyerematen? Why not? Why haven’t we given him more consideration, just as we are considering all these other people outside the two major parties? But most of us would say it would be a wasted vote. So, we go back and vote for the two main parties just because we don’t want our vote to be wasted.”

“We have said time and time again in the PPP that we need a constitutional review, but they don’t seem to want to do that.”

“Ghanaians need to break away from the dominance of the two major parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as both have upheld the status quo without offering any real change.”

“Leadership is not simply about wealth or being rich. Have we not heard all of these before? Have we not heard countless promises? Let’s see what happens if he wins, but with all of them, it’s the same—just promises.”

“I am very optimistic because I know Ghanaians want change. I am getting a lot of support from all kinds of people who believe that something has got to change and that there is something new. We say we are new kind of leadership .”

“We have governed in an ‘us-against-them’ manner, a competition in mediocrity rather than in excellence that has deeply divided the country and led to an inequality that characterises almost every sector — jobs, education, health and the economy. This has resulted in many Ghanaian businesses’ inability to excel and a youth without hope .”

“I don’t take it for granted; I recognize the enormity of the task ahead of us, and with God’s help, I am ready to take the bull by the horns and forge boldly ahead .”

“I had public exposure through Miss Ghana and although I was not publicly politically inclined, I have had a lot of influence. I have worked for years and built a bigger constituency and led a good life for people to testify that I am a good person. I didn’t have to officially be part of any political party to qualify for that position .”

“My brand cannot be affected in any way, not at all. November 3 will be 30 years since I was crowned Miss Ghana and so perhaps, I am now Miss Ghana’s grandmother. It is my sincerest wish that they will overcome the challenges .”

“I quite remember when I was selected as the vice presidential candidate of the PPP, every time my name was mentioned, being a former Miss Ghana always preceded without mention of my professional ventures and engagements and that was quite interesting .”

“Sometimes I ask myself, ‘have I done anything apart from Miss Ghana?’. It is as if my life is limited to Miss Ghana but you know, I’ve got brains too and have many potentials that have been limited to Miss Ghana.”
